The animated series Ark, based on the popular video game, quietly premiered on Paramount+ in March 2024 with limited advertising. While initially planned for a continuation later in 2024, then 2025, the creators have now announced that the second part of the series won’t arrive until 2026.

Ark boasts an impressive cast of well-known voices, including Michelle Yeoh, Malcolm McDowell, David Tennant, Jeffrey Wright, Elliot Page, Karl Urban, and Alan Tudyk. Vin Diesel, Russell Crowe, and Gerard Butler not only voiced characters but also served as producers on the show.

Madeleine Madden plays Helena Walker, a scientist who studies fossils. After the death of her wife, Victoria, Helena apparently took a dangerous amount of medication. However, instead of dying, she wakes up on the Ark—a strange place where people from different time periods live with dinosaurs. Life on the Ark is a constant struggle for survival, but Helena finds help from new friends, including her partner, Meiyin Li (played by Yeoh).

Michelle Yeoh returned to play her character, Meivin Li, in a new expansion for the game Ark: Lost Colony earlier this year. This expansion takes place between the events of the first Ark game and the upcoming Ark 2. While Ark 2 doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, Vin Diesel will be part of the cast when it’s finally launched.
