As a huge movie fan, I’m getting so excited for Wicked: For Good to finally hit theaters in just two weeks! That means we’ll be seeing tons of amazing red carpet fashion from Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and the whole cast. And speaking of Ariana, she just dyed her hair brown – the first time in about three years! She hinted that this new color will definitely be part of her style choices for the premiere and all the events leading up to it, which I think is a brilliant move.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight about the upcoming Wicked movie, Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda, discussed how changing her hair color to brunette alters her appearance.

Our look is a bit more subdued now. It’s enjoyable to explore different narratives during interviews for the film. During the first round of interviews, I really wanted to embrace the classic, cheerful side of Glinda. Now, I can show up as myself and acknowledge the more complex and dramatic elements of the movie.

Last year, it was hard to tell where Ariana Grande ended and her character from Wicked began in her promotional appearances. This time, she’s showing more of her own personality while still playfully referencing the iconic musical. We’ve already noticed a difference in her style – for her first appearance promoting Wicked: For Good, she surprisingly wore a black dress, something Glinda would never do!

Okay, let me tell you, Ariana Grande has been absolutely killing it with her style lately. I was especially obsessed with this hot pink gown she wore – it totally gave me Wicked vibes, channeling Glinda the Good Witch. But get this, it also had this amazing old Hollywood feel, like Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The contrast was just brilliant, and honestly, a little bit cheeky!

Following her role in Wicked, Ariana Grande has several upcoming projects designed to help her move beyond the Glinda character. She’s set to star in the movie Focker-In-Law alongside Ben Stiller, and will be touring extensively with her Eternal Sunshine tour throughout the summer of 2026, from June to September.
