ARC Raiders Skill Tree Progression Guide (Levels 1-75)

Unlike games such as Escape From Tarkov and Hunt Showdown, which rely on automatic upgrades or temporary boosts, ARC Raiders lets players build a lasting skillset through a customizable skill tree. However, ARC Raiders‘ progression system only provides 75 out of a possible 135 skill points, meaning players need to make careful choices to avoid mistakes that could cause problems down the line.

Luckily, most skills in ARC Raiders are useful, no matter how you like to play, and you can even plan your build ahead of time using the Skill Tree Builder. Whether you want a perfect, optimized build or just want to enjoy the game without stressing over skills, the options below will definitely give you an advantage in the dangerous world of ARC Raiders.

Best Early Game Skills For ARC Raiders

Best Skills From Levels 1–20

Right from the start of ARC Raiders, the most useful skill to focus on is In-Round Crafting, which you’ll find on the Survival path. You’ll need to spend two points on Agile Croucher and Revitalizing Squat before you can unlock it, but this level 3 ability is incredibly helpful and you’ll quickly wish you had it earlier.

With In-Round Crafting, you can create essential tools and medical items like Shield Rechargers, Bandages, and Grenades directly during a raid. This will significantly improve your chances of survival in longer ARC Raiders rounds, and help you conserve inventory space and credits by reducing the need to stockpile supplies beforehand.

Once you’ve quickly improved your crafting skills, focus on getting a few key abilities from the Mobility tree. Specifically, Marathon Runner and Useful Lungs are great choices, as they help you run for longer and increase your overall stamina.

To unlock the “Carry The Momentum” ability – which reduces stamina loss after dodging – you’ll need to invest three more skill points in the mobility tree. I suggest putting those points into “Slip And Slide” because sliding is a fast and effective way to escape tough situations in ARC Raiders.

After building up your stamina or movement skills in the Mobility tree, I suggest spending your last two skill points before level 20 on Looter’s Instincts. This will help you quickly get started with other important Survival skills as you progress in ARC Raiders.

Best Mid-Game Skills In ARC Raiders

Best Skills From Levels 20–45

Choosing how to spend skill points in the Survival tree largely depends on your playstyle, but some choices are better than others if you’re aiming for the powerful Security Breach ability. You unlock this ability after putting a total of 36 skill points into the Survival tree.

You’ll soon need 12 more skill points to level up your survival skills. I suggest completing the ‘Looter’s Instincts’ perk first – it will make gathering resources much safer. Then, you can focus on improving ‘Revitalizing Squat’ and ‘Silent Scavenger’ to become even stealthier.

Now that you’ve collected enough resources for the next big improvements, you should choose between Suffer In Silence, which boosts your stealth when you’re hurt, or Good As New, which speeds up your stamina recovery while healing. Once you’ve picked one, immediately get Traveling Tinkerer, and then go back and get the other upgrade you skipped earlier.

The Traveling Tinkerer skill builds upon your existing crafting abilities, letting you create a wider range of useful gadgets while adventuring. This can be a big advantage in fights, even if you’re using less expensive equipment.

Once you’ve learned this skill, focus on fully upgrading Broad Shoulders to carry more items. Then, before reaching level 45, invest in One Raider’s Scraps and Agile Croucher again.

Best End-Game Skills In ARC Raiders

Best Skills From Levels 45–75

Okay, so I’m getting pretty far in ARC Raiders now, and I’ve realized to unlock the ability to open those Security Lockers – which are everywhere on the maps – I need to put 6 more skill points into the Survival tree. Once I do that, I’ll finally get the ‘Security Breach’ skill and be able to loot them all!

Security Breaches are the best way to get valuable loot in ARC Raiders. They give you access to tons of useful materials, plans, and weapons, and not many players bother to unlock them, making them even more powerful.

Even though it’s often developed last, the Conditioning skill tree is still very useful. Here’s a good way to build it up for the first 16 levels.

  • Used To The Weight (Wearing a shield doesn’t slow you down as much)
  • Gentle Pressure (You make less noise when breaching)
  • Proficient Pryer (Breaching doors and containers takes less time)
  • Unburdened Roll (Your first dodge after your shield breaks doesn’t cost stamina)

To significantly improve your chances of surviving encounters with ARC and other raiders, prioritize getting the “A Little Extra” and “Loading Arms” skills. These skills offer valuable benefits – more resources when breaking into areas for loot, and lighter weapons – making your overall experience much smoother, even if you’re far into the game.

Finally, consider investing a few more points into mobility within the Survival skill tree to unlock Crawl Before You Walk. This upgrade will let you crawl faster, helping you reach teammates during intense combat or improve your chances of escaping on your own when downed.

How To Reset Your Skill Tree In ARC-Raiders

Expeditions Are The Only Way To Save A Poorly Managed Skill Tree

Currently, ARC Raiders doesn’t have a way to reset your character’s skills using credits or a typical prestige system. However, it features a system that achieves a similar effect. Once you reach level 20, the game will introduce new Expeditions every 8 weeks. These Expeditions require gathering a lot of resources, after which a reset will occur.

This system is completely optional and offers a better experience than similar ones. When you start using it, you’ll reset your progress with raiders, lose the items in your stash, and begin again with blueprints and quests. However, you’ll keep all cosmetic items you’ve earned, any maps you’ve unlocked, and any bonus rewards or seasonal benefits that transfer to your new character.

Even if you don’t play ARC Raiders often, the game lets you try out different character builds with new raiders. The game also gives you boosts to help you quickly level up and feel just as powerful as players who haven’t had their progress reset.
