I’m so excited! Embark Studios just opened up a free test for Arc Raiders! They’re basically stress-testing the servers before the full game comes out on October 30th. It’s a PvPvE extraction shooter, and I can’t wait to jump in and help them test things out!
I’m so excited – the new event, everyone’s calling it the “server slam,” is happening right now! It’s live on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. You can get it through Steam and the Epic Games Store. I’ve heard the Steam version is rolling out slowly, so if you don’t see it immediately, just keep checking back – it should appear eventually!
As we previously shared, the free Arc Raiders test lets players explore the Dam Battleground map and try out the game’s progression, crafting, and quest features. For the developers at Embark Studios, this test is a crucial step in getting their servers ready for the full game launch.
Okay, so I heard that if we play in this test, we all get a cool backpack skin – the Server Slammer – when the game officially launches on October 30th. Just a heads-up though, anything you earn or unlock *during* this test won’t carry over to the full game when it comes out. It’s just a chance to try things out and get a little something for participating!
Embark Studios was created by a group of experienced game developers, including Patrick Soderlund, a former executive from EA and the Battlefield series. Their new game, Arc Raiders, priced at $40, is releasing shortly after EA’s Battlefield 6, which launched on October 10th to great success.
In the future world of Arc Raiders, players must hide underground to avoid dangerous robots called “Arc.” They’ll need to go to the surface to gather supplies and battle these machines. Check out the trailer for a better look at the game!
The popular Call of Duty series will return in November with Black Ops 7, adding another major shooter to the lineup alongside games like Battlefield 6 and Arc Raiders.
