Arc Raiders removes duck cap after community rally sparked by viral 600-duck clip

Okay, so Embark Studios just dropped an update for Arc Raiders, and it’s amazing! They’ve upped the number of rubber ducks you can collect in your Raider Den. Seriously, I can finally display all my ducks! It’s a small thing, but as a collector, I’m super happy they listened to us and let us show off our full duck collections.

The update happened soon after a player’s post went viral, where they shared that they’d gathered over 600 collectible ducks, but the game only allowed them to show nine at a time.

The inventory limit became a popular joke among players, revealing a surprising disconnect between how the game collected items and how much players could actually customize. Throughout November, players shared screenshots of their full inventories on Reddit and other social media sites.

An ARC Raiders player, known as u/BigBootyTom, has a unique request: they’ve collected 600 rubber ducks in the game and are asking the developers to allow them to display the full collection, rather than the current limit of nine.

Community frustration led to a quick fix

In the 1.3.0 patch, Embark added a line to the notes confirming the feature was updated. The studio said the Raider Den had been “ducked out,” signaling that players can now fill the space with their entire collection instead of a capped set.

The developers of ARC Raiders have added a way to showcase all of a player’s rubber ducks after one player gained popularity for collecting a whopping 600 of them.

The update is mostly visual, but it quickly became popular with players who’ve collected many ducks throughout their gameplay. Players had been requesting this improvement since the game launched, as they felt the collectibles weren’t very satisfying without a way to show them off.

This update doesn’t change how the game plays or how often ducks show up. Instead, it provides a satisfying way for players who like to collect everything to track their achievements. People are already sharing pictures of their game spaces filled with ducks!
