Players of Arc Raiders think the game’s large enemy creatures are getting closer, suggesting attacks may begin soon.
I’ve been playing Arc Raiders, and there are so many robots trying to get you – little drones called Wasps, huge Matriarchs, even The Queen! But since the game came out, there’s been this massive Arc just hanging out in the distance, and it’s seriously intimidating. It feels like something big is coming.
On maps like Blue Gate and Buried City, you can see massive, enormous enemies in the distance. While these ‘Emporers’ aren’t currently attacking players, their appearance has sparked a lot of discussion about when they might become a threat and need to be battled.
Embark Studios hasn’t said whether they plan to officially add these features to the game, but it looks like an announcement might be coming soon.
Arc Raiders players think the Emporers are coming soon
Recently, players have observed that the massive Emperors are appearing closer and closer to the areas where the game is played. When the game first launched, these creatures were distant figures on the horizon, but now they frequently appear near the edges of maps like Blue Gate and Buried City, really highlighting just how large they are.
People on social media have been asking if they’re imagining things, or if the penguins at the Emperor Penguin exhibit are actually getting nearer to the viewing areas.
Am I going crazy or are the Emperors getting closer?

A Reddit user posted a screenshot from mid-December demonstrating that creatures appear to be spawning much closer to players now.

Embark Studios hasn’t officially announced their plans, but if this is intentional hype, it raises the question: what will happen when the ‘Emporers’ get too near?
Some players think these new creatures might signal a massive, collaborative challenge – a new endgame activity requiring multiple raiders to defeat a single, powerful enemy. However, their enormous size suggests they probably won’t be able to appear on the current game maps, which are already filled with structures and have difficult terrain.
One player suggested the possibility of a new map where players start on the map itself, and attackers would need to team up to conquer it by going inside and completing goals.
Players are excited about recent changes, but it’s also possible things haven’t actually changed. The changes could simply mean enemies appear at different distances depending on the match, as if there are now more places they can start.
After battling The Queen for months, players are really looking forward to facing the Emporers in Arc Raiders, as they’re expected to be the game’s biggest challenge so far.
