Embark Studios is constantly updating ARC Raiders with fresh challenges, and their latest update brings some seriously harsh weather. Coming February 24th, the ‘Shrouded Sky’ update introduces a new enemy type and a hurricane that will dramatically change how the game plays with its realistic physics.
The team behind ARC Raiders just released a short video hinting at the game’s dangerous weather. It shows intense winds, flying objects that can break your defenses, and limited visibility. However, the video also suggests players will be able to not just endure these storms, but actually use them to their advantage.

Okay, so Embark just dropped a really helpful weather report for us Raiders! It looks like a big storm is coming, and they’re giving us a heads-up so we can get ready. If you’re thinking of heading topside during this hurricane event, be warned – it’s going to be rough. The main things to watch out for are crazy strong winds, flying debris everywhere, and seriously limited visibility. You’ll really need to be careful out there!
Running into the wind will make you tired and slow you down, but a wind at your back will help you move faster and even jump further.
Grenades and similar thrown items will work a bit differently now, potentially letting raiders throw them much farther.
Trying to hide using a smoke grenade? Be aware that wind can easily scatter the smoke, making it less effective.
If your shield is hit by flying objects, it won’t just lose durability – it will also malfunction, creating visible sparks that alert nearby enemies to your position. This means players will sometimes need to choose between having a shield and staying hidden.
During the hurricane, visibility will be extremely poor. According to Embark, the weather has changed dramatically, making the upper decks almost unidentifiable due to low-hanging clouds.

Flying ARCs could approach undetected due to dark clouds, and strong winds will make it harder to hear them coming.
Despite the dangerous storm, there’s good news: the harsh weather has revealed hidden supplies left by the first raiders. It’s exciting to see the ARC Raiders community demonstrating skillful movement and creative strategies, and we’re eager to see how players adapt to and utilize the strong winds.
