On January 28th, Embark released a patch to fix several problems that appeared after the Highwinds update, following the recent server issues.

Fire rate bug fixed, loot speed partially rebalanced

A recent update corrects an issue where weapons were firing slower than intended after the last patch. Embark confirmed this slowdown wasn’t a deliberate change.

The developers explained that a bug caused some weapons to fire slower than intended. They confirmed this wasn’t a deliberate change and stated they plan to list all game adjustments in future patch notes.

Weapons effected included the Kettle and the Venator.

This update resolves a problem where some Raider Token cosmetic items weren’t showing up in the customization menu if you hadn’t bought them yet. It also fixes a bug that caused Ukrainian text to appear incorrectly in the game.

The recent change to how quickly items appear when looting isn’t a mistake. Embark Studios has confirmed they intentionally slowed down the initial reveal speed as part of a rebalancing effort, rather than reverting to the previous system.

So, it turns out the way loot used to show up before the latest update (1.13.0) wasn’t actually supposed to happen, according to the developers! Good news for those of us who have the Looter’s Instincts perk, though – we’ll still get to see items drop a bit faster than everyone else. It’s nice they’re keeping that benefit for us!

This hotfix addresses ongoing server issues in Arc Raiders, which have been caused by recent DDoS attacks. Embark Studios says they’re still working on improvements and will release more updates as they continue to resolve the problem.
