The production director for Arc Raiders wants to add more challenge to the game’s later stages, giving players who have finished the main content something new to tackle.
Arc Raiders was a hit when it launched in late 2025, and it’s still incredibly popular in 2026. Every day, hundreds of thousands of players enjoy the game on Steam, making it one of the platform’s most-played titles.
A frequent complaint from players is that there isn’t enough to do after completing the main game, particularly for those who have been playing since the beginning. Once you’ve collected all the Blueprints and have plenty of gear to easily defeat the final boss, the only option is to restart the game using the Expedition Project.
Embark Studios plans to keep its dedicated fans engaged with more content, and production director Caio Braga has assured players that several major updates are still planned for 2026.
Lead Arc Raiders dev wants to challenge endgame players more
At GDC, GamesRadar+ asked Jacob Braga if he’d consider making the game more challenging for players who find the surface world too easy.
Honestly, there’s a lot we’re still planning! We really want to keep pushing ourselves to create a better experience for players. Especially for those of us who are already hitting the endgame – we want to give you guys more content and really test your skills. I’m personally focused on making sure there’s always something challenging and rewarding to do, even after you’ve ‘finished’ the game.
He didn’t share the specific details of their plans, like whether it’s a new map designed for high-level players or a challenging new activity for skilled raiders. But he assured fans that they haven’t forgotten about more casual players and will have content for everyone.
We definitely want to keep doing this, but it’s also really important to us that we give other fans the chance to get involved and enjoy it too. That’s what it’s all about!
On March 31st, the Flashpoint update will launch, introducing a new enemy and weapon. Then, in April, the Riven Tides update will add an entirely new map and a significant new challenge with the Arc threat, giving players plenty to do.
