Arc Raiders, the extraction shooter from Embark Studios, has been a major hit. As 2025 ends, the studio is celebrating a successful launch – highlighted by winning Best Multiplayer Game at the 2025 Game Awards – and looking ahead to 2026. According to Embark, they’re just getting started and have plenty more planned.
Arc Raiders’ executive producer, Aleksander Grondal, shared on the game’s website that the team always believed in the game’s potential. They were enjoying it themselves before launch, and the positive response to the April tech test was encouraging. However, they were surprised by the overwhelming support and enthusiasm the community showed for Arc Raiders.
Arc Raiders launched in late October and quickly became a huge success, selling millions of copies in its first few days and establishing itself as a fan favorite multiplayer game this year. Unlike many popular multiplayer games that fade quickly, Arc Raiders has maintained a strong player base – it still has over 100,000 players on Steam at the time of this writing.
Embark Studios is continuing to improve Arc Raiders with regular updates. They’ve been fixing small issues, adding new features, and even creating new maps. The recent ‘Cold Snap’ update introduces a frozen environment, a special in-game event, and other improvements. This is just the beginning, as the team has plans for many more substantial updates in the future.
The team plans to continually develop and improve the game, aiming to keep it fresh and engaging for players – and they invite everyone to be a part of it. As a thank you, Embark is also giving away 1,000 free in-game tokens (Raider tokens) to all players who participate in the current Winter event before January 13th.
