Arc Raiders features many quests, and one involves investigating the source of the water contamination. This questline culminates in ‘A Toxic Trail,’ which sends you back to a familiar area to uncover more information about the polluted water. This guide will walk you through completing ‘A Toxic Trail’.
Completing A Toxic Trail doesn’t require you to search the map, but it’s helpful, particularly if you don’t have a secure inventory space for the key you’ll receive. The key isn’t needed for any other quests, but it can unlock valuable items on the Spaceport map later on.
When you’re ready to tackle A Toxic Trail, read on for each step you’ll need to complete.
How to complete A Toxic Trail in Arc Raiders
Okay, so if you’re trying to start ‘A Toxic Trail’ in Arc Raiders, you need to head back to that drain we found earlier – the one with the barrel for the ‘Source of the Contamination’ quest. It’s near the Water Treatment Center on the Dam Battlegrounds map. The easiest way to get there is to approach from the north, going through the swamp. I’ve included a map below to show you exactly where it is!
You don’t need to do anything with the barrel this time. Just wade through the dirty water for a bit – that will start the next part of the quest, where you’ll search for clues about where the barrel originally came from. The good news is, you won’t have to go far to find out!
Head a little ways west, and you’ll spot a truck partially submerged in the swamp. It’s pretty visible, but we’ve also pinpointed its location on the map below just in case.
Walk up to the truck and when prompted, take a photo of it. Then, you’ll need to search the trucks for clues about who messed with the water supply. Open a truck door to find a Spaceport Warehouse Key – grab it and keep it in your safe pocket, it’ll be useful for finding valuable items when you’re back at Spaceport.
Now that you’ve completed the quest, you can travel back using the Central Swamp Lift. Be careful though – other players often wait there to attack, so stay alert! Once you’re back in Speranza and hand in the quest, you’ll get a new one called ‘The Stench of Corruption.’ You’ll need to finish that quest if you want to unlock the Warden outfit.
