ARC Raiders: 10 Best Things To Spend Coins On

Don’t expect to get rich quickly in ARC Raiders. While the game is fun, it takes a while to start feeling like you’re truly earning a lot of money and getting good equipment. It’s a game that builds gradually, so progress feels slow at first.

Once you get the hang of the game, you’ll begin collecting valuable items that you can sell for a good profit. Then, you’ll face a common question: what should you buy with all your earnings?

You’ll have a few choices for how to spend your resources, much like a child with a little extra money. However, it’s smart to avoid impulse buys and instead prioritize items and upgrades that will be useful on all your future adventures. Here’s a guide to help you spend wisely.

It’s a good idea to check shops regularly, because merchants occasionally offer rare and powerful items, but only for a short time.

10. Door Blockers And Barricades

Can You At Least Knock?

Location Grenades & Gadgets
Merchant Apollo

While not the most crucial, it’s worth noting that Apollo’s shop, Grenades & Gadgets, offers some defensive items. Apollo doesn’t have a huge selection, but things like door blockers and barricades can be useful in emergencies.

You can find these items on the surface, and you can also build them at the Utility Station if you’ve added it to your Workshop. Either way, they’re useful for creating a safe room to hide from ARC enemies or other players who are chasing you.

There are definitely more practical ways to spend your money, but if you have some extra and enjoy gadgets, these are worth considering.

9. Explosives

Let’s talk about Apollo again – he’s a good source for grenades and explosives. You can find these items elsewhere, but he carries them if you need them.

If you enjoy using explosives, you probably already know how you like to use them. Everyone has different needs! But it’s always smart to keep a few extra explosives around. They can be useful when you run out of regular ammunition or need to cause a large explosion quickly, so stocking up can really help.

Alright, we’re leaving Apollo and his signature hat behind and exploring the other merchants in ARC Raiders – they offer a lot more worthwhile choices.

8. Basic Shields And Healing Items

Merchant Lance

Staying alive is one of the biggest challenges in ARC Raiders. As a game where you’re trying to escape dangerous situations, it’s designed to be difficult. If you’ve played before, you probably already know how important it is to start each match with bandages and shields to give yourself the best chance of survival.

You can find bandages easily on the ship, and you can also make them at the Medical Lab. If you’re using the starting equipment, the game will give you a few bandages to begin with. However, they don’t last long if you take a lot of damage, so be sure to keep some handy.

Bringing enough medical supplies with you significantly increases your chances of surviving a run and returning home safely. Without them, you risk losing everything.

7. Base Level Guns

Honestly, I’m not too worried about running out of basic weapons in ARC Raiders. Even if I mess up a lot and lose all my gear after a few failed attempts, the game always gives you a free starter loadout, so you can jump right back in!

You’ll soon figure out which guns work best for you at the beginning of the game, so it’s a good idea to collect extra copies of those favorites. That way, you can be sure you always start with weapons you’re comfortable and effective with.

I really like the Ferro, so I often pick one up when I’m running low. Make sure to build a Gunsmith station in your Workshop so you can upgrade these basic weapons and make them even more powerful.

6. Base Level Augments

In ARC Raiders, customizing your character’s build is key, and upgrading with augments is a smart way to give yourself an edge when venturing to the surface. Unlike many other items you’ll find, augments are relatively rare, so it takes effort to acquire them.

Okay, so augments are seriously helpful. Basically, they mess with how your inventory is set up. A lot of them give you extra backpack or Safe Pocket space, which is awesome because it means I can grab way more loot on each run without worrying about being overencumbered. It’s a game changer, honestly!

You’ll begin the game with some helpful augments, but they can be used up fast if you have a series of unlucky rounds. To improve your chances, always keep a good augment ready to use for when you want to really push your luck.

5. Gun Accessories

And Also Accoutrements

Merchant Tian Wen

If you’re still using basic weapons and struggling to upgrade or keep hold of them, check out the gun attachments available at Tian Wen’s shop. They can give you a significant advantage, and since you don’t find these items very often on the surface, it’s worth buying a few if you can afford them.

Players can customize their weapons with upgrades like larger magazines, or grips and stocks designed to minimize recoil and speed up reloading. In ARC Raiders, even small details can decide a firefight – having a bigger magazine or reloading faster could be what keeps you alive in many situations.

As a Raider fan, I always say: go all out and look the part! Seriously, pile on the accessories – think way more than Paris Hilton ever could. You gotta represent the team with everything you’ve got!

4. Upper Level Augments

Everything we said about Lance’s basic upgrades applies even more strongly here. Once you’re making good progress in ARC Raiders and have a steady income, you can start investing in the best versions of those upgrades.

Okay, so upgrading your augments costs a good chunk of change – 6,000 coins, to be exact. But honestly, it’s worth it if you can keep them for a few runs. They do all the good stuff you’d expect, like giving you more backpack and Safe Pocket space, and letting you carry more gear. But the real payoff is the extra benefits you get on top of that – they really start to make a difference when you’re trying to push further.

Right now, the most important thing is to look closely at the extra benefits each of the more expensive upgrades provides. For instance, the Combat Mk. 2 slowly restores health – one point every five seconds – if you’ve taken damage (but it won’t start healing again for 30 seconds after you lose health). Choose an upgrade with a benefit you find useful, and go for it!

3. Upper Level Shields And Healing Items

You’ve likely discovered how important healing items are in ARC Raiders. You can make them even better by purchasing upgraded versions from Lance’s clinic using in-game currency.

These upgraded items – like sterile bandages, stronger shields, and shield rechargers – are simply improved versions of the basic supplies you’re used to. As you’d expect, they perform much better.

Don’t forget to check for limited-time sales! Right now, for instance, Lance is offering a powerful shield for about 20 hours. Getting an item like that before attempting a Night Raid or battling strong ARC enemies can really improve your chances of success in those challenging situations.

2. Upper Level Guns

You’ll eventually want an upgrade from your current weapons. If you can afford it, Tian Wen offers some powerful new options.

Keep an eye out for limited-time sales to get the most powerful weapons, even though they can be pricey. For instance, right now in my game, Tian Wen is selling the Hullcracker I, a rare and strong gun costing 30,000 coins.

Although it’s a significant investment, buying a weapon like this and fully upgrading it at the Gunsmith will likely make your next trip to the surface much easier. Remember to use powerful weapons like this one for the tougher challenges you’ll encounter.

1. Stash Expansion

The More (Gear), The Merrier (Raider)

Merchant N/A

In ARC Raiders, prioritizing stash expansion is the smartest investment you can make. While getting great weapons and gear is enjoyable, you’ll quickly fill up your storage space. Unlike most items, stash expansion isn’t bought from a shop – you purchase it directly from the inventory menu.

When I first started, my stash only held 64 items, but the good news is you can expand that space! Here’s how it works…

Upgrade Cost Total Stash Spaces
Stash Expansion 1 5,000 88
Stash Expansion 2 10,000 112
Stash Expansion 3 15,000 136

Spending 15,000 coins might seem like a lot upfront, but these upgrades are one-time purchases. It’s definitely worth it to invest and increase your storage to 136 as quickly as possible – you’ll really benefit from the extra space throughout the rest of the game.
