The popular Apple TV+ series is now available to binge-watch on Prime Video. Released in 2023, this exciting science fiction adventure is quickly becoming a standout Kaiju franchise, boosted by a talented cast including Kurt Russell, Anna Sawai, Wyatt Russell, and many others.
I’m really into this action series right now! Season two is out on Apple TV, but surprisingly, season one is super popular on Prime Video. It’s a little weird because it won’t be on Prime for long – they’re taking it off on April 1, 2026. So, I’m making sure to watch the whole first season while I still can – you should too, before it disappears!
Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters Is Surging On Prime Video
Prime Video’s first season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is a big success, currently ranking as the 5th most-watched show in the U.S. on the platform. At the same time, season 2 is the top show worldwide on Apple TV+. This is unusual because both seasons are major hits on different streaming services at the same time.
There are a couple of things to know about watching Monarch: Legacy of Monsters on Prime Video. First, only season one is currently available. Second, Prime Video subscribers have a limited time – just 11 days or less – to watch all ten episodes of that first season. After April 1st, season one will be removed, and season two won’t be added to Prime Video. If you want to continue watching the show, you’ll need to switch to Apple TV, where new episodes will air weekly.
It’s become common for TV shows to gain popularity again when they move to different streaming services. For example, HBO’s Love & Death recently became a hit on Netflix worldwide. This usually happens on larger platforms like Netflix, because it reaches a wider audience than more specialized services like HBO Max or Apple TV, where not everyone has a subscription.
Apple made a smart move by releasing Monarch: Legacy of Monsters on Prime Video. This helps them attract a larger audience for season 2, which will only be available on Apple TV+. While it’s a bit of a strategy to get people interested before requiring an Apple TV+ subscription, Prime Video viewers can still enjoy a fantastic action-sci-fi series and then decide if subscribing to Apple TV+ is worthwhile for future seasons.

Considering everything, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is easily one of the best shows you can binge-watch on Prime Video this weekend. It joins other new releases like season 2 of Jury Duty and Deadloch as essential viewing on Prime Video, especially since the series will only be available to stream this March.
As the trailer suggests, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is a continuation of the popular Godzilla film series, set within the same universe after the events of the 2014 Godzilla movie. The second season will feature the return of King Kong, adding to the epic, large-scale action fans expect from the movies, but now available to watch at home.
You only have a few days left to watch season 1 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters on Prime Video before it’s gone. While Apple hasn’t confirmed a third season, six episodes of season 2 are still coming, with the finale scheduled for May 1st. If you watch season 1 on Prime Video this weekend, you’ll be ready for when season 2 starts releasing episodes weekly on Apple TV.
