Apple Pulls The Savant From Its Release Schedule

Apple TV+ has delayed the premiere of its new thriller, *The Savant*, starring Jessica Chastain. Originally scheduled to launch this Friday, September 26th, the series will now be released at a later, unspecified date. Apple confirmed the postponement on Tuesday, citing current events as the reason. The streaming service stated they appreciate viewers’ understanding.

Apple hasn’t explained why, but many believe the show’s depiction of political violence is the reason for recent attention. The show’s trailer, currently still available on YouTube, reveals the plot: Jessica Chastain plays a mother who works with a group fighting hate by going undercover online as a white supremacist. She essentially works as a counter-terrorist, joining extremist online communities to try and prevent attacks. In the trailer, her character warns, with scenes of bombings, shootings, and fires in the background, that “We’re on the verge of serious violence.”

Okay, so I’m hearing this new show, *The Savant*, which was supposed to hit Apple TV+, is delayed, and it’s kinda interesting. It seems like the subject matter might be a little too sensitive right now, especially with everything going on politically – you know, the recent violence and even the attempt on Charlie Kirk’s life. 9to5mac first picked up on this, and now the show just says it’s ‘coming at a later date.’ It’s happening right after Jimmy Kimmel got temporarily pulled off the air – he’s back tonight, thankfully, but a bunch of stations owned by Sinclair and Nexstar still won’t be showing his show. Nobody’s saying *exactly* what about *The Savant* made Apple nervous, but it feels like Hollywood is just being super careful these days, especially with the current political climate and how the Trump administration views media.
