As a passionate film enthusiast, I can’t help but ponder about the potential impact of “Severance” – Apple TV+’s thought-provoking office thriller, rumored to have a production budget exceeding $200 million – on its parent company. Although it remains uncertain whether this significant investment will yield returns for the tech giant, Apple CEO Tim Cook is undeniably working hard to generate interest among viewers, rallying us all as loyal Team Lumon members.
On Friday, Apple unveiled a promotional video with Tim Cook playing a character in a “Severance”-inspired setting. In the clip, Cook is starting a new job at the enigmatic Lumon Industries, portraying an employee whose identity has been partitioned through a medical procedure, separating his work and personal lives.
A serious-looking Cook steps into the Lumon elevator; on his way down to the building’s lower level, he transforms with a grin as his other self, Outie, surfaces. Navigating through Lumon’s labyrinthine corridors, the CEO encounters Mr. Milchick, who plays the somewhat ominous Lumon overseer, portrayed by Tramell Tillman.
This version aims to convey a similar meaning while using easier and more natural language.
Mr. Milchick addresses Tim C., saying, ‘Tim C., heart of Apple, take a seat,'” Tim then complies and settles down before a screen showing ‘Severance Season 2’ video. (Check out the video below.)
Ben Stiller, the executive producer and director of “Severance”, shared a video on Friday, accompanied by the caption, “Assisting a new colleague in finding their office this morning…” In response, Cook playfully echoed Stiller’s post and stated, “All set to begin work on episode 2!
On January 17th, Apple TV+ launched the second season of “Severance”. Each new episode of this 10-part series will be available every Friday, wrapping up on March 21st. The show originated from the minds of director Jared Hess and creator Dan Erickson, who also serves as a writer and executive producer. “Severance” is produced by Fifth Season.

The television series “Severance” features Adam Scott portraying Mark Scout, an employee whose character has been separated from Lumon. In the second season, Mark and his colleagues discover the severe repercussions of meddling with the boundary between their professional and personal lives, which seems to plunge them deeper into misfortune, as described by Apple TV+.
In Season 2, we reassemble our primary cast featuring Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette. Additionally, we introduce a new regular character portrayed by Sarah Bock to our series lineup.
