As a fervent admirer of captivating storytelling and extraordinary performances, I couldn’t be more thrilled about Anya Taylor-Joy’s latest venture! With her exceptional talent demonstrated in “The Queen’s Gambit,” “The Witch,” and “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” it’s evident that the lady is not just lucky, but incredibly talented.

According to our sources, Anya Taylor-Joy will take on both acting and producing roles for the miniseries “Lucky,” which is slated for Apple TV+.

The show is adapted from the similarly titled novel by Marissa Stapley, which topped the New York Times Best Sellers list and was chosen for Reese Witherspoon‘s Reese’s Book Club.

The official summary indicates that Taylor-Joy portrays a character who abandoned her criminal lifestyle from earlier days, only to be compelled to revert to her sinister, lawless self once more as a last resort to free herself from her haunting past.

Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas are working on turning the book into a TV series. They will both be in charge of the show and also act as executive producers. Tropper is producing this project under his contract with Apple, while Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter are producing for Hello Sunshine, which belongs to Candle Media. Taylor-Joy is producing through her Ladykiller Films label. The production will be handled by Apple Studios.

Reese’s Book Club started with the aim of fostering stronger bonds – between readers, authors, and the community we are creating. It is immensely gratifying to amplify these female-focused narratives and their creators, watch our community resonate with them, and then witness these stories come alive on screen,” Witherspoon expressed. “We’re thrilled to team up with Apple TV+, the exceptional Anya Taylor-Joy, not forgetting Jonathan Tropper, our talented creator, and his gifted co-showrunner Cassie Pappas, to bring this captivating series – derived from Marissa Stapley’s brilliant novel – to audiences worldwide.

Taylor-Joy expressed her excitement about joining forces with Hello Sunshine, Jonathan, Cassie, and Apple TV+ to brilliantly realize ‘Lucky’, as they’ve been consistently advocating for women’s stories.

Taylor-Joy returns to the realm of streaming TV series, having garnered significant recognition for her lead role in Netflix’s limited series “The Queen’s Gambit”. This performance earned her a Golden Globe award and an Emmy nomination. Although she is predominantly recognized for her film roles, such as those in “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga”, “The Menu”, “The Northman”, “Split”, and “The Witch”, she will also be featured in the forthcoming Apple Original Films production titled “The Gorge”.

She is repped by CAA, The Way Management, and Felker Toczek.

Tropper’s latest project, “Lucky,” is his newest series for Apple TV+. Previously, he created “Your Friends and Neighbors” featuring Jon Hamm, which was picked up for a second season even before its first season aired, under the banner of Apple TV+’s streaming service. Meanwhile, Pappas has been involved with the writing and co-executive production of “Silo,” an adaptation of Hugh Howey’s “Wool” novel series on Apple TV+. Her other works include “Griselda,” “Interrogation,” and “Tyrant.

Tropper is represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Kaplan/Perrone Entertainment, and Felker Toczek. On the other hand, Pappas is managed by United Talent Agency (UTA), 3 Arts Entertainment, and Hansen Jacobson.

Currently, Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine are responsible for the hit Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show,” now in its fourth season. In this series, Witherspoon has received two Emmy nominations and one Golden Globe nomination for her performance. Additionally, Hello Sunshine is also behind other Apple shows like “The Last Thing He Told Me” and “Surface.
