Anson Mount shared a heartfelt message expressing his gratitude while filming season 5 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Production on the final season—which will consist of six episodes—is nearing completion in Toronto.
Paramount+ has renewed Star Trek: Strange New Worlds for a fifth season, although it will be shorter than previous seasons. This announcement came when season 3 began airing in June. Season 4 finished filming in the summer of 2025 and is expected to launch on Paramount+ in 2026, with season 5 likely to arrive in 2027.
I was scrolling through social media and saw Anson Mount at the airport, clearly tired but so happy. He was wearing a hat from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 5 and shared a quick video saying how grateful he is to be doing work he genuinely loves. It was really heartwarming to see!
Mount often thinks about the saying, “Do you remember when you wanted what you have?” and he wants fans to know he’s currently happier than ever. See his post below:
Anson Mount is giving fans a peek behind the scenes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as filming for the fifth and final season gets underway. He recently shared a selfie taken with the cast and crew while they prepared to shoot in the USS Enterprise’s ready room.
The next set of photos features Anson Mount and Martin Quinn (who plays Scotty) taking a playful selfie on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. Anson also gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the sets and sound stages of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
I’m so excited for season 5 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, though the details are being kept under wraps! I did learn from Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers, the showrunners, that this final season will beautifully connect to Star Trek: The Original Series. Apparently, we’ll see Paul Wesley as Captain James T. Kirk taking command of the Enterprise from Captain Christopher Pike – a perfect transition, and I can’t wait to see it!
Before the fourth season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds arrives, with ten new episodes, viewers can expect more of the creatively ambitious storytelling that defined season three. This includes an episode where Captain Pike and his crew are unexpectedly transformed into puppets.
While it’s a little bittersweet, filming for the fifth and final season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is expected to finish in December. The good news is fans still have two more seasons and 16 episodes to enjoy on Paramount+.
Anson Mount is sharing his experiences as he finishes his run as Captain Pike on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Hopefully, despite being tired from the work, he and the entire team will create an amazing final season five of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
