Get ready for another 50K ultramarathon in Washington, DC, powered by Taco Bell! Hundreds of runners, known for their love of fast food, have already registered for this demanding race that will test their physical and mental endurance.
Recently, the first of its kind Taco Bell 50K race gained a lot of attention online. The challenge involves running a 31-mile ultramarathon, but with the added fun of stopping for snacks during the race!
The race involved running to 10 different Taco Bell restaurants, and participants had to eat something at at least nine of them while running. It wasn’t just a test of physical endurance, but also how well your stomach could handle so much fast food during a tough race. Could you eat that much Taco Bell and still finish?
The event, which became popular online, has expanded from its first location in Denver, Colorado, to Washington, DC. Currently, over 400 people have registered to participate, hoping to complete the challenge and win a surprise prize.
Next Taco Bell 50K ultramarathon set for Washington, DC
The ultramarathon starts promptly at 8:00 AM on Saturday, November 29th, and promises a challenging and exciting race.
Runners participating in this event have 11 hours to finish the 31-mile course, and they also need to eat at least nine different items from the Taco Bell menu. They are required to eat two specific meals, which are…
- By the 4th stop, all entrants must have consumed at least one (1) Chalupa Supreme or one Crunchwrap Supreme
- By the 8th stop, all entrants must have consumed at least one (1) Burrito Supreme or one Nachos Bell Grande
Importantly, any drinks you consume don’t count towards your race totals, even if they’re high in calories. Also, this event isn’t affiliated with Taco Bell in any way. That means the nine Taco Bell restaurants along the race route will remain open to all customers, not just runners. Race officials recommend placing orders in advance and being patient, as the restaurants will be very busy with hundreds of orders.

Okay, so before I even think about starting an ultramarathon, I have to face the fact it’s seriously dangerous. Like, we’re talking potentially life-threatening stuff here. It’s a bit grim, but you gotta acknowledge that before you even lace up your shoes.
It costs nothing to enter, though those competing do have to purchase their own food at each stop.
You might be wondering what motivates people to participate. The answer is simple: with 418 people already registered, it’s just for enjoyment.
“The worst decisions can lead to the best outcomes,” as one of the organizers told Washingtonian.
