Analogue 3D Returns Soon With Fresh Retro Colourways

Okay, so the Analogue 3D is getting a ton of hype as basically the best way to play N64 games in 4K, and I’m super excited because they’re releasing a bunch of awesome new colors! They’re doing a limited run with clear shells that look like the original N64 consoles from back in the day, which is a really cool touch. They’ll cost $300 and drop on December 10th at 8 AM Pacific / 11 AM Eastern, and the best part? They’re promising delivery before Christmas! Plus, 8BitDo is making matching controllers, which is perfect. I’m definitely trying to snag one of these!

As a big fan of retro gaming, I’m super excited about this! Apparently, Analogue spent over a year perfecting the colors for this new release, and they teamed up with 8BitDo to make them look just like the original Funtastic controllers. They’re releasing eight awesome colors – Jungle, Ice, Watermelon, Fire, Grape, Clea, Smoke, and even a Gold one that’s inspired by the super rare Toys R Us N4 console that collectors like me are always hunting for! And the best part? 8BitDo is making their controllers in all the same colors, which is perfect!

The standard black or white Analogue 3D will be available again on December 10th. The price has increased a little to $269, and orders placed this month will ship in January.

The Analogue 3D has been well-received, but it will likely face strong competition from the ModRetro M64 console. The M64, which costs $200, also uses an FPGA to accurately recreate the original N64 experience. However, it’s still unclear whether its performance will match the Analogue 3D’s level of accuracy.

ModRetro hasn’t started taking preorders for the M64 yet, but you can check out photos of the console—and its unique, three-pronged controller—in this image gallery.
