Fans are still eagerly awaiting the animated series based on the popular game, Among Us. While the animation was finished last year, there’s no news yet on when it will be released or any significant updates about its launch. The creators have assured everyone that work on the series is continuing.
Why there has been no news on Among Us TV show
Innersloth, the company that created the popular 2018 game, recently told Cartoon Base on X (formerly Twitter) that the animated show is still in development. They explained that while they’re making progress, they don’t have any news or a release date to share just yet, and jokingly apologized for the lack of updates. They also acknowledged and complimented Cartoon Base’s dedication to finding information.
Innersloth and CBS Studios announced an animated series based on their popular social deduction game in June 2023. The show follows the crew of a spaceship as they try to figure out which one of them is a shape-shifting impostor.
The project attracted a lot of buzz thanks to its well-known actors, like Elijah Wood, Patton Oswalt, Debra Wilson, Kimiko Glenn, and Dan Stevens. However, making the show has taken longer than originally planned, even though fans are eager to see it.
According to showrunner Owen Dennis, the series blends comedy and serious moments, taking influence from sci-fi classics like Alien, Star Trek, and The Thing. Dennis revealed in early 2024 that filming finished in August. It seems the show is still being offered to different streaming services, which could be why we haven’t heard much about a release date yet.
A quick preview of Among Us was shown at the 2024 Summer Game Fest, showcasing its bright new animation and the talented voice actors involved. On October 16, 2025, Innersloth shared an update with fans – the first official news in over a year! They confirmed that work on the game is still ongoing, but don’t expect any major announcements in the near future.
