Partnering with Kepler Interactive, the studio just released a chilling teaser for a project called Hotel Samsara. The brief video shows unsettling images of a deserted hotel, set to strange sounds and chanting, and concludes with a voice stating, “something new.”
Alongside a short preview, a website appeared, designed to resemble an advertisement for a high-end investment. It showcased a luxurious lifestyle and featured what seemed to be customer testimonials. However, followers soon discovered this wasn’t a typical game reveal-it marked the beginning of a secret challenge.

Once people subscribed to receive email notifications, they started getting odd messages containing concealed phrases such as “FOLLOWERS OF __.” This immediately created a puzzling situation, and fans began thoroughly investigating the website, emails, and even older game data in hopes of finding solutions. A lot of people think this latest project might be related to SOMA, or perhaps the start of a completely new horror experience.
After the community successfully figured out each clue, Frictional Games shared a thank-you message and a teaser. It stated, “We aimed to create something enjoyable to give you a glimpse of our current project.” They were surprised by the community’s collaborative spirit and how quickly everyone worked together to solve the puzzles. The studio even confessed that they had to increase the difficulty of the puzzles because fans were solving them so rapidly.
Frictional also shared their enjoyment of seeing the community unite-not only to figure out the puzzles, but also to come up with funny content like jokes, memes, and interesting theories.

Although the exact nature of Hotel Samsara remains unknown, it’s clear that Frictional Games has once again captivated fans with its distinctive blend of suspense, fear, and narrative. It’s still uncertain if this will be a sequel to SOMA or something entirely original, but the excitement is already building.
