Retro Games Ltd. specializes in restoring classic computers from the 1980s and 90s, celebrating their original impact. They started with the Commodore 64 and then the Amiga A500, and now they’re excited to announce the return of the Amiga A1200. Pre-orders will open soon, with the computer officially launching a few months after that.
The full-sized Amiga A1200 will be available for pre-order soon
Retro Games Ltd. announced the Amiga A1200 on Facebook. Unlike the Amiga A500 Mini, this new version includes a real, working keyboard—not just a non-functional one. This makes it easier to play games that require keyboard input, so you won’t need to connect a separate keyboard.
The computer comes with 25 built-in games, and the creators have highlighted a few of them:
- Beneath A Steel Sky;
- The Settlers II;
- Lure of the Temptress;
- Ruff n Tumble;
- Defender of the Crown I;
- Defender of the Crown II;
- Turrican;
- Turrican II The Final Fight;
- Turrican III Payment Day.
The computer includes a mouse and controller. You can easily add your own games through the USB ports, including those created for the Amiga.
Tickets go on sale November 10th, 2025, and the official launch is June 16th, 2026. The price will be €189.99, which is about $220.
The Amiga A1200 wasn’t as widely popular as earlier Amiga models until the mid-1990s, when it started to become more well-known. It still has a dedicated following among retro computing enthusiasts today.
