Jean-Pierre Jeunet, famed for his Academy Award-nominated work on “Amélie,” is set to direct Leïla Bekhti in the film adaptation of the popular book “Changer l’eau des fleurs” by Valérie Perrin. This novel has garnered over two million copies in sales across France and Italy.

The filming for this movie is set to begin in May, with production handled by Palomar (Italy) and 24 25 Films (France), both belonging to the Mediawan Group.

Bekhti, known for her roles in the Cesar-nominated film “All Your Faces” and Damien Chazelle’s “The Eddy,” has been cast as Violette Toussaint, a cherished caretaker of a cemetery.

Strangers and frequent visitors drop by her house for warmth and companionship, sharing laughter and tears over cups of coffee. Her day-to-day life is interwoven with their secrets. One day, a man named Julien Seul, a police commissioner, visits her doorstep. He’s looking into the case of a couple buried in the cemetery.
