The long-awaited Tomb Raider series from Amazon is moving forward with the announcement of its cast. A well-known actor from Game of Thrones will play the lead role, becoming the third person to portray the iconic adventurer in a live-action adaptation.
Amazon MGM Studios has revealed the full cast for the upcoming Tomb Raider series, starring Sophie Turner as Lara Croft. Joining her are Sigourney Weaver as Evelyn Wallis, Martin Bobb-Semple as Zip, Jason Isaacs as Atlas DeMornay, Bill Paterson as Winston, Jack Bannon as Gerry, John Heffernan as David, Celia Imrie as Francine, Paterson Joseph as Thomas Warner, Sasha Luss as Sasha, Juliette Motamed as Georgia, and August Wittgenstein as Lukas. Sigourney Weaver will play the primary antagonist, a powerful and enigmatic woman who wants to use Lara’s skills for her own purposes.
I’m so excited about this new action adventure series! It’s coming from Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who I absolutely love – she created it, wrote a lot of it, and is heavily involved as an executive producer and co-showrunner. Chad Hodge is also a co-showrunner and executive producer, and Jonathan Van Tulleken, who did amazing work on Shōgun, is directing and producing too. Phoebe recently shared some thoughts about the new cast, and I can’t wait to hear what she has to say.
Tomb Raider is known for its memorable characters, and I’m so excited to have included many beloved ones – both from fans and my own vision – in the movie. We’ve also added some new, fun characters to the story. I couldn’t have asked for a better cast!
Peter Friedlander, who leads Amazon MGM Studios, expressed his excitement about Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs joining the cast of the upcoming video game movie. Both actors will have important roles in the film.
Tomb Raider is known for its compelling stories and memorable characters, and this new group of actors adds a fantastic level of depth and seriousness to the franchise. We’re thrilled to have talented performers like Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs join the cast, helping us expand the Tomb Raider universe in exciting ways. We can’t wait for viewers around the world on Prime Video to see what’s next!
