MLB The Show 26 is adding college baseball teams, letting you start your career in college before moving to the major leagues – just like real players such as Nick Kurtz! According to developer San Diego Studios, the following Colleges will be in MLB The Show 26:
- LSU Tigers
- Tennessee Volunteers
- UCLA Bruins
- South Carolina Gamecocks
- Texas Longhorns
- Vanderbilt Commodores
- TCU Horned Frogs
- Cal State Fullerton Titans
- North Carolina Tar Heels (NEW)
- Oregon State Beavers (NEW)
Okay, so here’s the deal with colleges in MLB The Show 26. San Diego Studios has added eleven new schools to the game, plus the eight we already had from last year. That brings the total up to nineteen playable colleges, which is awesome! They’ve already announced two of the new schools, and I’m excited to see the rest!
I’m really excited about Road To The Show in Show 26! It looks like you can now choose how you want to start your baseball career – you can go straight from high school to the minors, or you can experience playing college ball first. From what I’ve heard, each college team will be different, with its own unique players and strengths, so it’ll be cool to see which one you pick and how it affects your career!
If you’re new to the game, Road to the Show (RTTS) lets you create a player and experience their career. You’ll start as a high school player, but you can choose to begin in the Minor Leagues or go to college first.
Most of the schools on this list were expected choices. Adding North Carolina was a natural fit given its strong baseball tradition, recent achievements, and the college’s widespread appeal. The list as a whole represents a well-rounded group of schools.
We’re now curious if this will lead to even more schools being added down the line. Last year, people really liked seeing college teams included. While a full-on College Baseball game might not be happening anytime soon, it’s great to see some college players making it to the major leagues.
