After the dramatic ending of Alien: Earth Season 1, the creators have shared good news: Season 2 is coming together quickly, and we now have a better idea of when it will be released.
Alien: Earth Season 2 EP gives production update
Okay, so as a huge sci-fi fan, I was thrilled when FX announced another season of Alien: Earth last year. And the show’s executive producer, Dana Gonzales, just dropped some cool news about how things are going with the new season – it sounds like it’s really coming along!
Gonzales recently shared a photo on Instagram showing a sign with one of the show’s famous creatures and his name on it. The sign confirmed that filming was starting soon at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.
The executive producer shared a photo with a caption announcing his excitement for season two of the show. Gonzales wrote that he’s eager to begin work on the new season, focusing on expanding the show’s world. He also mentioned being thrilled to film in England, as the original Alien movie was filmed there in 1979.
Recent progress indicates that filming for Season 2 of Alien: Earth is about to start, which could mean the new season will be released sometime next year, perhaps in the first six months of 2027. As of today, though, there’s no confirmed release date.
As a huge fan, I’m getting really excited because it sounds like they’re gearing up to start filming at Pinewood Studios! Things are finally starting to come together timeline-wise. But, honestly, this show is visually ambitious, and even though everyone loved the practical effects in the first season, I know from experience that all the sound design and digital work that comes after filming can take a really long time – months, usually. It’s a lot to pull off, but that’s part of what makes the show so great.
One big question fans have about Alien: Earth Season 2 is who will make it out alive after the dramatic ending of Season 1. Sydney Chandler, the actress who plays Wendy, has confirmed she’s heard from the show’s producer, Gonzales, about what’s happening with the new season.
Now that Gonzales has confirmed preparations are underway and the main creative team is set, fans might finally get a new installment of the ‘Alien’ franchise soon.
