Be warned: this contains spoilers for Episode 5, “We Check In to C.C.’s Spa & Resort,” of Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 2. You can watch the episode with a Disney+ or Hulu subscription.
A major highlight of the Percy Jackson books has always been the developing relationship between Percy and Annabeth. Recently, in the latest episode of Season 2, Percy says something to Annabeth that fans are going wild over!
This season, the growing romantic connection between Percy and Annabeth has become more obvious. It started with Annabeth’s reaction in the premiere when the Gray Sisters called Percy her boyfriend, and it became even clearer in the episode “We Check In to C.C.’s Spa & Resort.” The show’s creators had promised this would be a standout episode, and it delivered when Percy told Annabeth he would destroy Olympus to save her. Here’s a reaction someone shared on Twitter:
This is a seriously sweet moment! Percy Jackson is clearly developing strong feelings for Annabeth Chase, and even if he doesn’t realize it’s romantic yet, it definitely feels that way to fans, who are going wild over it.
Okay, as a huge fan, I’ve been really invested in Percy and Annabeth this season! When they first met back at Camp Half Blood, things were a little…awkward, you could tell they hadn’t really talked much over the break. But honestly, watching them team up for this new quest to find Grover? It’s been amazing. You can feel the connection growing between them, and it’s becoming super obvious they’ve got a thing for each other. Their quiet moments together are just adorable, and I’m totally rooting for them!

Enjoy access to both Disney+ and Hulu for as little as $12.99 per month! Watch shows like Percy Jackson and the Olympians with either service, or get even more entertainment by bundling them together. See the deal here!
Despite the actors being 16 now—Walker Scobell and Leah Jeffries—their characters are meant to be 13, which leaves room for their connection to develop naturally over time.
Currently, fans are more focused on the immediate events and reacting strongly to them, rather than speculating about the future. A perfect illustration of this is what just unfolded.
A fan pointed out that the show left out the “bubble hug” scene from the first Percy Jackson and the Olympians book. It’s possible the creators are adding this new scene to make up for that omission. Changes are expected when adapting a book to television, and even the actor Walker Scobell admits it’s sometimes frustrating. However, those changes can also lead to exciting and welcome additions, like this one.
Clearly, fans are here for changes like it too, as this fan noted:
In episode 5, Percy and Annabeth wake up at Circe’s spa and must team up to overcome the dangerous Sirens. They need to escape, rescue their friends, and get back on track with their mission. This scene was a standout moment, and a particular line—and how it was delivered—is sure to stay with viewers.
New episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will air every Wednesday starting now, and will continue until the final episode on January 21, 2026.
