Warning! Spoilers ahead for Gen V season 2.
In season 2 of Gen V, Marie Moreau gains the power to revive the dead, which could be a major advantage for the heroes in The Boys’ fight against Homelander. As The Boys approaches its fifth and final season, the team’s mission to eliminate all superpowered individuals is reaching a critical point, and Marie might be the key to their success.
The season finale of Gen V directly connects to what happens next in season 5 of The Boys. It seems likely that the young superheroes from Gen V will join forces with the members of The Boys. Marie, in particular, could be a huge asset after learning the full scope of her abilities in Gen V‘s latest season.
Marie’s Newfound Ability To Resurrect People Could Be Invaluable To The Boys
In the fifth episode of Gen V season 2, titled “The Kids Are Not All Right,” Marie and her friends are trapped in Elmira and come up with a risky escape plan. When they break into the cell of Marie’s sister, Annabeth, hoping to free her, they discover she’s been murdered. Overwhelmed by grief, Marie unexpectedly gains a boost to her powers.
Marie used her abilities to heal Annabeth’s fatal throat wound, reversing the damage and restoring her sister to life. The effort was incredibly draining, but Marie managed to defy death itself. With this power revealed, Marie seems capable of overcoming any challenge.
Marie’s power to revive the dead could be a huge advantage for The Boys in their battle against Homelander. Their biggest problem so far has been Homelander’s willingness to kill them without hesitation. But if Marie can bring them back to life, Homelander won’t be able to defeat them for good.
Marie’s Resurrection Power Could Be The Key To Defeat Homelander
Homelander possesses an incredible range of superpowers, including immense strength, the ability to fly, laser vision, and rapid healing. He’s similar to Superman, but unlike Superman’s wholesome upbringing, Homelander lacked love and guidance as a child, leading him to become a cruel and dangerous killer. Because of his powers and personality, he’s virtually unbeatable.
Homelander has incredible power, but he can’t revive people after he kills them. Marie, however, can bring people back to life – a major reveal in Gen V season 2 – which makes her potentially even more powerful than Homelander.
