I’ve been a huge fan of Survivor for years, and it’s amazing to me how it still feels fresh after all this time! It really set the standard for reality TV, and you can see its influence everywhere. I’m so glad they’re streaming all the old seasons on Paramount+, and I’m incredibly excited for Season 50! The idea of bringing back familiar faces is fantastic, and Jeff Probst has me even more hyped, explaining that they’re going to have some incredible celebrity guests – like MrBeast! – joining them out in Fiji. It’s going to be epic.
The upcoming 50th season of Survivor will bring together both classic and newer players, and fans are excited to see how they’ll all compete when the show begins in 50 days. Along with questions about prize money, viewers are also curious about the role of the celebrity guests appearing this season. Host Jeff Probst recently explained the reasoning behind this new twist in an interview with Variety.
Bringing in celebrities like Zac Brown, MrBeast, or Jimmy Fallon can introduce distractions and shift focus. People might become more interested in the celebrity than the main event, or they might try to connect with them personally. We heard from many participants that they’d always wanted to be featured in a MrBeast video.
So, it seems the show is using surprise celebrity guests to shake things up for all the players, even veterans like Cirie Fields and Ozzy Lusth who have been on four times before. We’ll see how people like MrBeast impact the game when the show returns in February. However, many longtime fans weren’t happy with this news.

You can watch all seasons of Survivor on Paramount+, which costs as little as $7.99 per month or $59.99 per year. Paramount+ offers two plans: an Essential plan for $7.99/month and a Premium, ad-free plan for $12.99/month. See the deal here.
Look, it’s too early to say if Survivor Season 50 will go down as an all-time great, but the celebrity appearances are definitely generating buzz. I’m still not sure if fans will actually enjoy seeing famous faces mixed into the competition, but Jeff Probst and the team are hoping it’ll shake things up and impact how the game is played. And Probst himself explained…
The surprise element is meant to test whether you can maintain your original line of thinking – or if it will throw you off track and cause you to fail.
I believe these celebrity appearances could really impact the returning players – those competing in Season 50 after a break. They’ve already had the experience of seeing themselves on television, and adding stars like MrBeast and Zac Brown might further change how they approach the game. Of course, that’s just my guess – maybe Cirie is a big Jimmy Fallon fan, and I simply haven’t heard about it!

There’s a lot of expectation for Survivor 50 to be a great season, following the disappointing reception of last year’s Season 49. Many fans weren’t thrilled with how the game was played, particularly how long Rizo managed to keep his Immunity Idol. Both Rizo and last season’s winner, Savannah, are returning to compete against some of the most iconic players in Survivor history. It remains to be seen whether the veterans or the newer players will ultimately win.
The new season of Survivor, titled Survivor 50, will begin airing on February 25th, 2026. It will be interesting to see if any celebrities make appearances and how those cameos might affect the competition.
