Scott Belsky, who served as Adobe’s Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President of Design and Emerging Products, has decided to depart from the company to fully commit to A24 as a partner. In his new role at A24, he will be overseeing technology and innovation projects for the studio.
Scott Belsky is a multi-talented individual, serving as an entrepreneur, author, and inventor. In the year 2006, he established Behance, a digital platform that has since been utilized by over 50 million professionals within the creative sector, to exhibit and discover innovative work. Adobe acquired this platform in 2012 for a whopping $150 million. Following a period as a venture capitalist at Benchmark in San Francisco, Belsky re-joined Adobe in December 2017.
Belsky shared on Thursday that he’s relocating to work with A24, specifically stationed in New York City. However, he will continue serving as an advisor to Adobe.
Seven years after coming back to Adobe (following the takeover of @Behance), I’m preparing to make a change in the coming months by diving into the dynamic realm of filmmaking and storytelling, an area I’ve long been passionate about,” Belsky wrote. “I’m thrilled to be joining @A24, a studio I’ve always respected – as a partner and will be launching some unique projects with them. Fortunately, I’ll still maintain ties with Adobe and look forward to collaborating with them in the future as a potential technology partner.
As a movie critic eagerly looking forward to the future, I’m thrilled about Scott Belsky’s transition from tech to entertainment. With his background in developing technology, he’ll undoubtedly bring fresh insights to A24, helping them strengthen their bond with filmmakers by creating innovative tools and resources that nurture their creative endeavors. It’s intriguing to see the collaboration between our companies unfold, as we explore ways to advance the craft of storytelling together on a global scale.
Belsky holds positions as a board member at Atlassian, a collaboration-software company, and offers advice and investments for businesses like Pinterest, Uber, Sweetgreen, Good Inside, Ramp, and numerous other fledgling enterprises. He’s also a trustee at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and participates on the advisory board for Cornell University’s Entrepreneurship Program. Belsky is the author of popular books titled “Making Ideas Happen” and “The Messy Middle.
