Adan Manzano, a sports anchor and reporter at Telemundo 39 in Kansas City, has died. He was 27.
On Wednesday, a journalist who was rising in his career passed away in New Orleans, where he was working on a story about the Super Bowl for both Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports. The specific reason for his death has not been shared. In response to this unfortunate incident, the local Telemundo network announced that they are assisting law enforcement as they conduct an investigation into the event.
Adan was a dedicated professional on the rise, consistently demonstrating exceptional skill in his field. “Adan was a true professional and an up-and-coming talent, who embodied excellence in all his work. We will sorely miss Adan, his love for sports, and the valuable contributions he made to our community. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and loved ones during this tough time.
Ten months ago, Manzano lost his life, following the tragic car crash that took the life of his wife, Ashleigh Boyd, in Topeka, Kansas. Remarkably, their young daughter, Eleanor, who was just a year old at the time, managed to survive this unfortunate incident while riding with her mother.
Originally hailing from Mexico City, Manzano relocated to Topeka, Kansas, back in 2018. He later graduated from Kansas State University. In April 2021, he started working as a sports anchor at Telemundo 39, following previous experiences at La Semana del Sur, Reyes Media Group, and Sky Sports México.
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas expressed his sorrow on social media over the loss of Adan Manzano, saying in a post on X: “Adan was still so young and vibrant, and he attended almost every community event. This news is heart-wrenching. My sympathies go out to his family, friends, and coworkers.
