BetaDwarf, the developer behind it, has unveiled their latest title, named Vaultbreakers. Previously referred to as “Project F4E,” Vaultbreakers is characterized by its developers as an intense action role-playing game with player versus player and player versus environment elements that are played from a top-down perspective (ARPG). Towards the end of this week, some players will have the opportunity to participate in a closed beta test.
According to Steffen Kabbelgaard, the game’s setting is a world that changes over time, requiring strategic thinking, quick adaptation, and intense combat. In this game, surprise elements like Changelings or other players can alter events unpredictably, making it more skill-based and knowledge-driven. I think we are providing an innovative multiplayer Action Role-Playing Game (ARPG) experience with a unique twist.
BetaDwarf unveiled a trailer showcasing Vaultbreakers‘ gameplay and cinematic visuals. This preview features two players engaging in combat against a duo of adversaries. One player gets defeated, but the other manages to flee through a portal that functions as an extraction point within the game.
Nikolaj Wendt, our lead game designer, mentioned that several members of our team are fond of the mechanics in the extraction game, however, they’re all currently shooter games. He added a twist to this by stating that the team isn’t particularly proficient at shooters. Regrettably, there were no viable alternatives available, so they opted to develop their own unique blend of extraction with an ARPG (Action Role-Playing Game) style.
The closed playtesting for Vaultbreakers, covering the initial and subsequent chapters of the game storyline, starts on January 31. To participate, interested gamers can apply through Steam or the official Vaultbreakers website. Additionally, access keys will be distributed via Twitch Drops from selected content creators. Moreover, BetaDwarf mentioned that participants in this playtest will receive Legacy Points, a type of in-game currency, which can later be utilized to claim rewards that persist even after the game’s official launch.
The official launch date for Vaultbreakers hasn’t been disclosed yet, however, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam at this time.
