Action RPG combining steampunk and king-fu has a release date. It’s pretty far off, but a new trailer for Phantom Blade Zero makes a lot of promise

Action RPG fans will want to watch Phantom Blade Zero – early looks suggest it’s going to be excellent. A new trailer at The Game Awards 2025 finally showed when the game will be released.

  1. Phantom Blade Zero will launch on September 9, 2026, on PC and PlayStation 5. You can already add the game to your wishlist on Steam and in the PS Store.

S-GAME, a Chinese studio, is creating Phantom Blade Zero, a game influenced by classic Chinese wuxia stories and the exciting action films of Hong Kong. Following the huge success of their previous game, Black Myth: Wukong, they’ve attracted significant investment, allowing for a large budget and impressive visuals, as seen in the trailers.

The game is set in Phantom World, a fantastical place inspired by Chinese mythology and steampunk. You play as Soul, a highly skilled assassin wrongly accused of killing the leader of their organization. With time running out, Soul must uncover the true killers and clear their name.

This game focuses on exciting, fast-paced combat against both common enemies and powerful bosses. Mastering the art of dodging attacks and striking back quickly is key, and you’ll have a diverse range of weapons and abilities to use. Players can also freely explore expansive and open environments.
