Abyss & Pearl map changes revealed for Valorant patch 11.08

Valorant’s newest update, patch 11.08, includes significant map adjustments to Pearl and Abyss. The changes are designed to make it easier for players to defend key areas of the maps.

Valorant has seen significant updates from Riot Games over time. While new Agents, abilities, and weapons often grab attention, the game’s maps are frequently adjusted and improved as well.

While players are always excited about new maps, fans also frequently discuss older maps that haven’t been updated or redesigned in a long time.

In patch 11.08, Riot Games is updating the Abyss and Pearl maps. They’re changing the key areas where players fight to improve gameplay on those maps.

Abyss map changes in 11.08

The map Abyss, which is one year old, will be updated with changes to its Mid and B Site areas. According to Riot Games, they’ve identified ways to improve how players defend B Site.

The site now features tighter spaces that will favor defenders, and wider areas at the start of corridors, giving attackers more options for deploying utilities.

Mid has been updated with new routes to enter, and some pathways have been removed. We’ve also made the area around the zipline bigger, giving defenders more space to position themselves further from the action.

We’re updating Pearl & Abyss to enable more creative site holds & post-plants.

Pearl map changes in 11.08

Riot Games is making changes to Pearl to help defenders better control B site. They’ve noticed some attacking strategies are too effective, making it hard for defenders to regain control of the round.

The map now offers defenders more options for securing the site, thanks to added boxes and cover. These changes also give attacking teams new ways to try and take the site back.
