Scott Snyder, the writer behind the ‘Absolute Batman’ comic series, recently shared that one villain in the series is responsible for the most deaths. The nineteenth issue of ‘Absolute Batman’, illustrated by Nick Dragotta, is scheduled for release on April 15, 2026. The series began in October 2024, and a new variant cover for issue #19 featuring Scarecrow and the Joker was recently revealed, drawing inspiration from the ‘Death Note’ manga.

At the 30th anniversary of the La Mole convention, a well-known comic book writer spoke with Kristoff Kirchoff and shared which Batman villain has been responsible for the most deaths.

In an Instagram video, Kirchoff questioned Scott Snyder about how Batman’s character has changed in the comics and what the future holds for him. Kirchoff pointed out that Batman is distancing himself from loved ones – including his mother and allies – and asked why, noting that he seems to be transforming into a symbol for Gotham.

Snyder shared some details about the upcoming story arc, including a particularly deadly villain: Scarecrow. He explained that Batman will face challenges because he’s alienated his allies, and this new arc will be very dark and intense. Snyder noted that Scarecrow will be responsible for more deaths early on than any villain they’ve featured so far.

Scott Snyder hinted that the next installment, Absolute Batman #19, will be significantly larger in scope than previous issues. He described it as a game-changer, introducing new Batmobiles, villains, and a major, unrevealed event that will dramatically shift the direction of the series. He emphasized that it will be a wild ride with unexpected developments.

The author also suggested that Absolute Robin could appear in the 20th issue of Absolute Batman.
