Rapper A$AP Rocky is upset with Reddit moderators for removing his posts, which he was using to promote his latest album.
For a long time, musicians have been using social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to promote their new music. While these are the most common choices, artists have also explored other, less traditional, online spaces for marketing.
A$AP Rocky is promoting his new album, Don’t Be Dumb, through typical marketing channels. He’s also trying a more direct approach by engaging with fans on Reddit communities like HipHopHeads.
However, A$AP Rocky has been having issues on Reddit, with moderators removing his posts.
A$AP Rocky’s Reddit posts deleted
The rapper expressed frustration on the r/HipHopHeads subreddit after several of their comments were removed, writing, “MODS STOP DELETING MY COMMENTS.” They also questioned the need for artists to get approval from moderators before sharing their music with fans, adding, “Don’t be ridiculous.”
Some Redditors teased the moderators for strictly enforcing the rules against self-promotion, pointing out that the artist themselves was the one posting. A$AP Rocky even chimed in with a comment saying, “Don’t be dumb, I follow the rules.”
He mentioned he’d been attempting to upload videos, but they were immediately removed after being published. He emphasized this, stating, “They were only up for one second before being automatically taken down.”

Some people noted that record labels and PR firms usually work with Reddit moderators to approve posts where artists promote their own work. But it doesn’t seem that happened this time.
The ASAP Rocky account on Reddit hasn’t appeared suddenly; it’s been around for a while now.
He’s shared positive comments about other musicians and hinted at upcoming songs online before. However, this time, his posts violated Reddit’s rules and were removed by moderators.
The last major protest by users against moderators happened when the subreddit r/Art was temporarily closed due to an artist promoting their own work.
