Warning! Spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo ahead!
Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga doesn’t let moments of peace last for long. After a few optimistic chapters, the story quickly reminded readers how harsh and unpredictable the world can be. While danger is always lurking, fans have become accustomed to the constant threat and can often anticipate when trouble is coming.
Recently, people began to suspect that the peaceful relationship between humans and the Simurians wouldn’t last. A single event could have destroyed that peace. The trouble began with the sorcerers’ distrust of the aliens, which ultimately led to Cross being shot by Yakumaru.
Instead, let’s shift our attention to Yuka, Tsurugi, and Maru, who were elsewhere. At the end of Chapter 12 of Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, the group parted ways feeling optimistic and confident about working together again. They were hopeful for what the future held, unaware of the tragedy unfolding in Tokyo and how it would impact them.
The scene feels very similar to the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen with Gojo, Geto, and Ieiri. Like them, these characters are separating, and it visually represents them each choosing their own direction and growing distant from one another.

So, does this mean the three main characters shared their final moments together, and will now each go their own way after learning what happened to Cross? Maru won’t likely forgive the attack on his brother, given his tendency to act impulsively. Tsurugi will probably focus on his responsibilities and help the sorcerers, potentially creating a conflict between him and Maru. Fans have pointed out that the scene where they walk towards separate paths, divided by a green area, seems to highlight this growing divide.
Yuka is facing a serious illness – a brain tumor – and has been given only six months to live. Many fans believe a recent scene in Chapter 12 of Modulo, where the main character stands on a bridge near a gravestone, foreshadows her death and represents her moving on.

If the concerns are confirmed, Yuki, Tsurugi, and Maru could be facing their final peaceful times together, mirroring the fate of Gojo, Geto, and Shoko.
