A new One Piece episode just dropped online and it’s free to stream

On their official YouTube channel for One Piece, Toei recently uploaded a fresh, self-produced episode. Following its premiere at the 2025 MBS Anime Festival.

Unfortunately, the video doesn’t have English subtitles, but you can use automatic translation from Japanese to get a general understanding of the conversation.

In this brief installment, approximately five minutes in duration, the scene unfolds post-Wano arc encounters, with Luffy and Trafalgar Law as our central characters on a secluded island. However, their peaceful retreat is disrupted when a monstrous sea creature assails them. The unusual aspect of this attack is that a sword has been lodged in the beast’s throat, which seems to be the root cause of its aggression towards our duo. Removing the sword from its gruesome position results in the creature withdrawing peacefully, apparently pleased with their actions.

For this particular episode, it was Yasunori Koyama, the series director starting from Episode 1031, who took the reins and oversaw the storyline’s development as well. Additionally, Tomohiro Nakayama, a seasoned contributor to various One Piece episodes, penned the script.

When is the One Piece anime coming back?

Starting from April 6, 2025, the broadcast of One Piece anime will shift to a new time slot, airing on Sunday evenings in Japan instead of Sunday mornings where it has previously been shown.

The new airing time for the program is 11:15 PM on Fuji TV, identical to when “Demon Slayer: The Hashira Arc” was shown last year. A different show will take over the spot previously held by “One Piece,” beginning in April.

The anime’s airing pattern is being adjusted, and moreover, Subaru Kimura will take over as the voice of Franky, replacing Kazuki Yao who had to resign because of health issues.

As a dedicated One Piece enthusiast, I’m excited to share that right now in Japan, they’re airing a condensed version of the Fish-Man Island Saga on TV, since the anime has taken a break. Prior to this pause, the storyline followed the thrilling exploits of the Egghead arc!

While you’re waiting, delve deeper into the Land of the Gods Arc and the Man with Flaming Mark. Additionally, discover where to catch the One Piece Fan Letter screening.
