‘A Morte Nos Teus Ollos’: A Galician True Crime Tale Boarded by Atresmedia and Buena Vista Intl.

Guillermo de Oliveira’s upcoming Galician-language film, “A Morte Nos Teus Ollos,” has secured the roles of producers and distributors from Atresmedia Cine and Buena Vista International.

The production, created by both Sideral and Sétima, marks de Oliveira’s second film following his 2019 debut documentary, “Sad Hill Unearthed.” Filming is set to start this autumn, with the movie scheduled for release in Spain in 2026. Nuria Landete, an executive producer at Sideral, will showcase the project during the Producer’s Spotlight segment of this year’s European Film Market.

In 1994, the movie “A Morte Nos Teus Ollos” is inspired by real-life events and revolves around two police officers from Vigo who committed a gruesome crime: they murdered a businessman, his wife, their eldest daughter, and their housekeeper for approximately $160,000, which was equivalent to 20 million pesetas at the time. The crime took place just a short distance from Oliveira’s residence in Nigrán.

The movie has earned notable European acclaim, receiving the Best Development Project award at the Mia International Audiovisual Market in 2024. “A Morte Nos Teus Ollos” is funded by ICAA, AGADIC, and Atresmedia. (translated to a more casual tone)
