A Longtime Microsoft Exclusive Franchise Makes Its PlayStation Debut In March

This year, it was revealed by the developer World’s Edge that both Age of Mythology: Redesigned and Age of Empires II: Ultimate Edition are set to debut on the PlayStation 5.

On March 4, Age of Mythology: Retold, a spin-off from the Age of Empires series, will be released. The content remains the same as the Xbox and PC versions, including the release of the new expansion titled Immortal Pillars on the same day, which features Chinese themes. Cross-play is included in the PS5 version, meaning players can interact across platforms, and all future updates will be shared among all platforms. The Premium Edition offers five days early access starting February 27, and preorders include two exclusive blessings for the Arena of the Gods mode.

Come spring 2025, I’ll be diving into Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition on my PS5, with fresh DLC expansions rolling out across all platforms. Unfortunately, World’s Edge hasn’t given us any juicy details yet, but they did offer a tantalizing sneak peek at what’s in store for us gamers.

It has been disclosed by World’s Edge that they are currently developing another DLC expansion for Age of Empires IV, and it will be released this year as well. The initial one, titled Knights of Cross and Rose, is scheduled to debut in the spring season.

Previously exclusive to Xbox consoles for years, these games have now transitioned to PlayStation as well. Just last week, Microsoft revealed that Forza Horizon 5 will be available on the PS5 starting this spring.
