The latest installment of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is bringing a fresh energy to the Game of Thrones universe, but this week’s episode will air on a different day than usual. Here’s the reason for the change.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, inspired by George R.R. Martin’s ‘Tales of Dunk and Egg’ stories, tells its story in a way that’s quite different from the shows Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon.
I’m really enjoying how this show is different from a lot of other fantasy series. Instead of huge, sprawling stories with tons of characters, each episode is pretty focused. It’s all about Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg – just the two of them, and their adventures. It’s a much more intimate and personal story, which I’m finding really engaging.
I’ve been watching the show every Sunday night, but this week they’re dropping the new episode on Friday! Honestly, it’s not a surprise – they’re probably trying to get everyone talking about it over the weekend.
Why is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 4 dropping early?

The next episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, episode 4, will be released on Friday, February 6th, because of Super Bowl Sunday.
To make sure it doesn’t clash with a major American sporting event, the fourth part – called ‘Seven’ – will first become available at 12:01 AM Pacific Time on Saturday, then premiere on regular television on Sunday at 7:00 PM Pacific Time / 10:00 PM Eastern Time.
The new Game of Thrones spinoff isn’t alone – the fifth episode of Industry’s fourth season will also premiere on HBO Max this Friday, before airing on television Sunday.
Below, we’re sharing our predictions about what could happen in the next episode of AKOTSK, so be warned: there are potential spoilers ahead!
What will happen in Episode 4?

After the shocking discovery in Episode 3 that Egg is actually a Targaryen, Episode 4 will focus on the consequences of this revelation.
Okay, so at the end of episode three, I was sure Aerion was going to seriously hurt Dunk! He was about to knock his teeth out, but then Egg just swooped in and dropped this huge bomb – he’s actually Prince Aegon V Targaryen! I seriously did not see that coming.
This reveals two key facts: Duncan’s young squire is actually of royal blood, and he hasn’t been truthful with Dunk from the very beginning of their acquaintance.
So, Episode 4 looks intense! The new trailer just dropped, and it starts with Egg trying to apologize to Dunk, who’s… well, he’s in jail, and he totally shuts Egg down. It seems like there’s a lot of unresolved stuff between them, and Dunk isn’t ready to forgive Egg at all.
We soon discover that Aerion intends to have Dunk executed, most likely through a Trial of Seven – a dangerous fight where Dunk needs to assemble a team of six other knights to stand with him.
The video concludes with Duncan powerfully urging the crowd at Ashford Meadow to join him, shouting, “Who will fight alongside me? Have the great families of Westeros lost their bravery? Are there no honorable knights here?”
Meaning we’ll find out this Friday if anyone is brave enough to battle Aerion alongside him.
