While many are reflecting on 2016, E! is heading back even further – to 2006 – for a new reality show concept. Inspired by the idea of reinvention, the network is developing a series that will bring together celebrities who have fallen from grace, housing them together as they attempt to rebuild their public image. Tentatively titled Becoming Uncanceled, the show aims to offer a lighthearted but meaningful look at redemption, focusing on people who’ve made mistakes but aren’t facing criminal charges. According to Val Boreland, E!’s entertainment president, the show isn’t about sensationalizing scandal, but rather about seeing these personalities get back on track. It’s a concept Ned Fulmer of the former Try Guys already explored with his podcast Rock Bottom. We have a suggestion for someone who might benefit from a PR makeover, if they’re interested.
