I was so surprised to see CloverPit drop on Xbox yesterday! It’s available on Xbox One, Series X|S, and through Game Pass (Ultimate and Premium). It’s a really cool mix of slot machines and roguelike gameplay – think Balatro and Buckshot Roulette. They even got Jimbo from Balatro to appear in the launch trailer, which is awesome! Basically, you’re trying to pay off a huge gambling debt from this really grimy cell, and if you fail… well, let’s just say it doesn’t end well. I’m already hooked!
CloverPit was first released on Steam on September 26th. The developers intentionally delayed the game’s launch from a planned September 3rd release to avoid coinciding with the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong. This decision appears to have been a good one, as publisher Future Friends Games and developer Panik Arcade report that CloverPit has already sold over 1 million copies on Steam.
Panik Arcade revealed a new downloadable content pack for CloverPit during the Xbox launch trailer. According to the developer’s post on X (formerly Twitter), the DLC, called Unholy Fusion, will be available on both PC and Xbox. It’s currently unclear whether the add-on will be free or require purchase.
CloverPit is available on Xbox for $10 for players who don’t have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Premium. It was unexpectedly released as part of the Xbox Partner Preview event this week. During the presentation, another interesting indie game coming to Game Pass was also revealed: Vampire Crawlers. This new game from Poncle, the creators of Vampire Survivors, is a deckbuilding dungeon crawler.
