The first glimpse of the upcoming live-action Legend of Zelda movie has been revealed! A video taken on the New Zealand set appears to show actress Bo Bragason dressed as Princess Zelda.
A brief video posted on Instagram by Tonyolsenfilm features someone dressed as Bragason walking through a forest towards a woman with horses and a sword. Viewers quickly realized the location resembled the set of the upcoming Legend of Zelda movie, which is being filmed in New Zealand and is scheduled to be released in 2027.
The upcoming live-action movie features Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bragason as Zelda. Wes Ball is directing, and Nintendo is heavily involved in making the film. While official locations haven’t been revealed, reports suggest much of the filming will take place in New Zealand.

First on-set footage shows possible Zelda and Impa scene
A short Instagram video shows actress Bragason wearing an outfit similar to Zelda’s from the game Breath of the Wild. She’s being led through a forest set and walks toward a woman in dark clothes surrounded by horses and holding a sword. People who saw the video immediately guessed the woman might be Impa, a character who often protects Zelda in the Zelda games.
The video doesn’t have any spoken words, and it was filmed from far away, with the camera crew and equipment clearly visible around the performers. While Tonyolsenfilm didn’t offer any background information, the outfits and set design quickly became a hot topic online.
Until now, Nintendo and Sony Pictures had only shared information about the main actors and when the movie would come out. This seems to be the first time anyone has seen photos of the characters wearing their costumes while filming. The studios havenā€™t officially released any pictures or trailers and haven’t made any statements about the leaked footage.
