Chainsaw Man isn’t like most action-packed anime focused on power levels, but its fight scenes are still very important. What makes the series special is the way it balances deep character stories with intense, violent action, and this contrast is especially clear in the Reze Arc movie.
As a huge fan, I’ve been following Chainsaw Man for years, and it’s amazing how much the story and characters like Denji and Power have grown since the end of the Bomb Girl Arc! But if you look back to the Reze Arc specifically, there’s a really clear power ranking that shows where everyone stood at that point in the series. It’s funny, because people are always debating if Reze could beat Bakugo from My Hero Academia, but it’s easy to forget that Reze isn’t even the strongest character within the world of Chainsaw Man at that time!
Power Doesn’t Get to Use Her Full Strength as the Blood Fiend

Power has quickly become a beloved character because of her funny, yet abrasive, personality. It’s a shame she wasn’t featured more in the story. Even if she had been present during Denji’s battle with the Bomb Devil Hybrid, she probably wouldn’t have been able to contribute much with her current abilities.
The movie demonstrated that Power could become incredibly powerful if she had enough blood. However, Makima prevents this because it would make Power uncontrollable. To maintain control, Makima regularly drains Power’s blood, limiting her potential. Viewers of the second season will see a different, more developed side of Power than what was presented in the film.
Aki Hayakawa Trades Years of His Life in Exchange For Strength
Aki Hayakawa is widely liked, and he’s much more than just good-looking. He’s a remarkably strong Devil Hunter who has consistently demonstrated his abilities throughout the series and the new movie. Even before gaining the power of the Future Devil, Aki was incredibly quick and skilled – he could actually hold his own in a fight against the formidable Katana Man, which is an amazing accomplishment for someone without devil powers.
Aki is incredibly dangerous because he’s completely unconcerned with his own well-being. Driven by a desire to avenge his family’s death at the hands of the Gun Devil, he’ll sacrifice years of his life to gain more power. Though skilled and resourceful in a fight, Aki is still fundamentally human. This humanity is what makes him a strong leader within Public Safety’s Special Division, but it also leaves him physically vulnerable.
Beam’s Full Shark Devil Form Makes Him The Perfect Ally For Denji

Beam, also known as the Shark Fiend, quickly became a fan favorite during the Reze Arc. He’s as energetic and attention-grabbing as Reze’s explosive powers. What really sets him apart is his loyalty to Denji throughout most of the fight with Bomb Girl. While he isn’t a powerhouse in terms of raw strength, Beam contributes significantly to the battle with his incredible speed and special skills.
Beam is already incredibly fast and nimble, but transforming into his full Devil form makes him even quicker. He can also move through solid objects like he’s swimming, allowing for extremely rapid travel. Beam’s agility is a huge help to Denji when fighting Typhoon and Reze, and it’s also worth noting how tough he is. He can withstand direct hits from Reze that would have killed most other Devils.
The Violence Fiend Has Physical Strength Comparable to Reze Herself
Okay, I’m already obsessed with Galgali, the Violence Fiend from Chainsaw Man! He might be new – showing up near the end of Season 1 – but he’s quickly become a fan favorite, and I totally get why. He’s just so… delightfully clueless! And honestly, pairing him with poor, constantly-terrified Kobeni is comedic gold. They’re a perfect duo – one right after the other, just delivering hilarious moments. Seriously, that pairing is chef’s kiss.
When it comes to fighting ability, Violence Fiend is just as powerful. Although Galgali only fights Reze twice in the Chainsaw Man movie, he demonstrates his strength in those encounters. Importantly, viewers who only watch the anime haven’t yet seen the full extent of Violence Fiend’s power, as he’s consistently limited by the poisonous mask he has to wear.
Angel Devil’s Power is Only Held Back By His Lack of Motivation
Among the new Devils introduced in the first season as part of Public Safety’s special division, Angel Devil stands out the most. Makima quickly establishes Angel’s power to Aki, stating he’s the second strongest member of Division 4, after Captain Kishibe. Angel’s ability to form weapons using people’s life force makes him incredibly powerful. However, Makima believes his biggest weakness is his tendency to be lazy.
The story reveals that Angel isn’t lazy, but deeply compassionate, even though others—and sometimes he himself—believe he’s heartless. Aki’s genuine kindness is what helps him recognize this truth. The film also suggests Angel possesses immense power, demonstrated when he assists Power after work. His only apparent limitation is the number of people he can draw energy from.
Kishibe is One of the Strongest Devil Hunters in the World

Although Kishibe appears only very briefly in the anime’s opening and closing credits, he is still considered to be in the movie. This automatically makes him one of the most powerful characters featured. Kishibe is the most skilled and experienced Devil Hunter in Japan, and second only to another Hunter worldwide who hasn’t been shown in the anime yet.
When looking at overall power levels, it’s difficult to say Kishibe is stronger than a powerful Devil like Typhoon, as Kishibe is still human. However, if Kishibe had time to prepare, his incredible skill could likely allow him to defeat someone like Typhoon. In a straight-up fight based on physical strength alone, it’s hard to imagine any normal human being able to beat a fully developed Devil.
The Typhoon Devil Proves to Be an Overwhelming Force of Nature
Throughout the Chainsaw Man Reze Arc movie, the Typhoon Devil is always lurking, though he mostly stays out of the main action. He first appears on the school roof during Denji and Reze’s date, but he might have been around even earlier, when they first met in the rain. Either way, Typhoon is easily one of the most powerful characters shown in the Reze Arc so far.
Though not as strong as some of the later villains, Typhoon is a formidable opponent who returns later in the story with a major impact. Currently, Denji can defeat him relatively easily using Beam. However, Typhoon’s powerful winds completely overwhelm Angel and Aki, demonstrating that a normal human without special abilities wouldn’t stand a chance against him.
Denji’s Chainsaw Man Heart is His Greatest Strength and Most Tragic Weakness
By this point in Chainsaw Man, Denji has become a much more powerful and capable Devil Hunter, better understanding and controlling his unique abilities. The Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc shows Denji getting used to his Devil powers, though he still has a lot to learn. His fight against Reze is particularly important, as she forces him to understand the true nature of Devil combat.
Denji is still developing his abilities as a Devil Hybrid. He possesses a hidden power he hasn’t discovered yet, something others, like Reze, recognize and want to control – as shown by their attempts to take his Chainsaw Devil heart. While he hasn’t unlocked this full potential as of the Reze Arc, he’s definitely becoming a powerful Devil Hunter capable of battling even the strongest opponents.
Reze, The Bomb Girl, Has Officially Become Chainsaw Man’s Most Explosive Villain Yet

Reze quickly became a fan favorite in Chainsaw Man, and it’s easy to overlook just how powerful she is. Although Denji ultimately won their fight by being resourceful and quick-witted—proving he’s more clever than people realize—Reze is undeniably the stronger and more skilled fighter overall.
I quickly realized just how powerful Reze was. It was clear right away when the Typhoon Devil instantly offered to work for her – she spotted him while Denji and she were on their date! She wasn’t just strong because of the Bomb Devil; she was also a highly trained Russian spy and assassin, dedicating years to becoming a master of her skills. Sadly, even with all that training, she couldn’t defeat Makima in the end.
Makima Controls Her Enemies Like Mice in a Maze
Even after the Reze Arc of Chainsaw Man, the full extent of Makima’s power remains a mystery. However, it’s become clear she’s among the series’ strongest characters. So far, she’s demonstrated an incredible ability to survive being shot in the head, the power to kill people from very far away, and now, the ability to move rapidly through a disturbing swarm of mice.
Makima’s power isn’t about physical strength; it’s her intelligence and ability to manipulate others. She can control almost anyone, even in incredibly stressful situations, like being surrounded by the Yakuza. Makima is a serious threat in the Chainsaw Man world, and those who only watch the anime haven’t even begun to understand how powerful she truly is.
