The upcoming life simulation game, Paralives, similar to The Sims, has been pushed back to May 2026. The developers need more time to fix important bugs and include additional features before releasing the early access version.
Paralives is a life simulation game created by Alex Massé over six years. It lets you build homes, create characters, and develop relationships within a charming, open-world town. Like The Sims, you can enjoy activities such as gardening, fishing, working, and raising a family, all while discovering unique personality traits. However, the game’s early access launch, originally planned for December 8th, has been postponed to May 25, 2026, as announced on the official Steam page.
Massé announced that they’ve decided to postpone the game’s release, apologizing for the short notice. After careful consideration, the team believes this is the right choice for both the game and its community. While earlier playtests with friends and fans were promising and led them to believe a December release was achievable, more recent tests with a wider range of players revealed the game wasn’t quite ready. Players particularly enjoyed the character customization options and building features.
Massé explained that while progress has been made, some significant issues remain in the live version of the game, and there aren’t enough things for players to do in the town. They believe fixing these problems is crucial before releasing the game to the public, as these issues are currently affecting player enjoyment.
Massé highlighted an updated plan on the game’s website detailing upcoming improvements. The team will be working on bug fixes and new content, with a particular focus on resolving key problems and making the initial experience for new players smooth and enjoyable, ensuring a positive launch.
We’re really pleased with how the game is coming along, but we need a little more time to refine the simulation features,” Massé explained. “This will guarantee Paralives launches with a fantastic first impression and keeps players excited for all the free updates and expansions we have planned.
When Paralives becomes available in early access in May 2026, players can look forward to new features and extra content—and it will all be free.
