DC’s New Batman Series Bat-Fam Debuts To Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score

I think DC might have another winner with their new animated series, Bat-Fam! Honestly, not a lot of people know about it yet, but it’s really good. It’s a follow-up to the awesome Merry Little Batman movie from last year, and it feels like they’re building on that same fun, family-friendly vibe. It’s expanding the story and really focusing on the whole Bat-Family, and I’m loving it!

Bat-Fam is a funny and action-packed series about Bruce Wayne, his butler Alfred, and his son Damian, as they fight crime in Gotham City. It also features other members of their close-knit group. The show was created by Roth and Jase Ricci, and stars Luke Wilson, James Cromwell, Yonas Kibreab, London Hughes, and Michael Benyaer.

The new animated series Bat-Fam has received a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on the first six reviews. While this score may change as more reviews are published, it’s a promising start for the show and suggests it could become another standout title in the DC Animated Universe, much like the critically acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series from the 1990s. It’s important to note that Bat-Fam is a distinct project from that earlier series.

Warner Bros.’ animated series Batman: Caped Crusader, available on Prime Video, has a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Other recent DC animated shows are also performing well: My Adventures with Superman boasts a perfect 100% rating, and Creature Commandos has a 95% rating. Creature Commandos is the first series in James Gunn’s newly launched DC Universe.

DC collaborates with streaming services like Prime Video and HBO Max, giving creators the freedom to explore unique stories outside the main DC universe. These stories, branded as ‘Elseworlds,’ aren’t tied to the current continuity that will be led by the upcoming Superman film in 2025. This approach is proving successful, as evidenced by the positive response to Bat-Fam.

More DC TV shows are on the way! Season 2 of Batman: Caped Crusader is confirmed, and Waller, Lanterns, Paradise Lost, and Booster Gold will all fit into the new DCU timeline. On the movie side, the studio is developing several exciting projects to grow the DCU, including a new Batman film, The Brave and the Bold, and a follow-up to Superman.

While not as widely publicized as this year’s Superman movie or the upcoming The Batman Part II, Bat-Fam is expected to be a favorite among DC fans. Initial reviews suggest it’s a warm, humorous, and captivating story that brings a new take to familiar characters – something that’s possible when different stories aren’t tied together.
