Authorities in Singapore are charging Johnson Wen, who calls himself the “Troll Most Hated,” after he rushed towards Ariana Grande on November 13th, according to the BBC. Wen frequently disrupts events involving pop singers. He’s expected to plead guilty to disturbing the peace and could face a fine of up to S$2,000 (about $1,540). A viral video shows Wen jumping over a barrier at the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good, where Cynthia Erivo pulled him away from Grande before security intervened. Wen was arrested after the incident, and Grande hasn’t publicly addressed it yet.
Wen has a history of disruptive behavior at concerts. While he claims to be a fan of Ariana Grande, posting about how she’s “the Queen,” he’s previously rushed the stage at concerts by Katy Perry, The Weeknd, and The Chainsmokers. In videos of these incidents, security and the performers themselves seem unable to stop him. He shared footage of his run towards Grande on November 13th, writing a thank you message for being allowed on the yellow carpet. It remains to be seen if a $2000 fine will deter him, though bodyguards and Cynthia Erivo are likely hoping so.
