Jacob Chase reveals Insidious 6 update
Director Jacob Chase announced that filming for the sixth Insidious movie has finished. He shared a photo of the clapperboard on Instagram, expressing his gratitude to the cast and crew for their hard work and dedication. The film is scheduled for release in August.
Sony Pictures Malaysia announced on X (formerly Twitter) that filming for the latest Insidious movie is complete. They shared that the movie will be released in cinemas next year, which excited fans of the horror series.
The latest Insidious film was first revealed in May 2024, with an original release date set for August 29, 2025. However, Sony removed it from its schedule in December 2024, and it’s now planned to come out on August 21, 2026 (according to Nexus Point News).
Okay, so I’m really excited about this new movie! It’s directed by Chase, who also worked on the story with David Leslie Johnson. Lin Shaye and Amelia Eve are leading the cast, which is awesome. And get this – it’s being produced by some seriously big names: Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Ryan Turek, Steven Schneider, and even David Leslie Johnson are on board as executive producers, according to Deadline.
Although the plot details haven’t been revealed yet, this movie continues a series that started in 2010. The franchise has become incredibly popular over the years, and the latest installment, 2023’s The Red Door, has become the highest-grossing film in the series so far.
