I’ve been waiting twenty years for this! The new Disney sequel, Freakier Friday, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, is finally here, and it’s fantastic! Honestly, I was worried after such a long wait if it could possibly live up to the original, but it totally does. It’s easily one of the funniest movies I’ve seen all year, and I’m so glad they made it!
You can now watch Freakier Friday on Disney+, starting November 12th. The comedy is well-liked by critics, earning a 74% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and even more popular with audiences, who gave it a 91% rating on the Popcornmeter. Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan return as Tess and Anna Coleman, and the cast also includes Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Rosalind Chao, Chad Michael Murray, and Mark Harmon.

I was so excited to hear that Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan stayed friends for twenty years, even after making the first Freaky Friday! Jamie shared a clip revealing they kept in touch and built a really great friendship over the decades, and it was amazing to see that connection still there when they finally started working on the sequel, Freakier Friday.
I’m a huge Lindsay Lohan fan! I’ve kept in touch with her ever since we worked on Freaky Friday back in 2003 – she was only 15 then, and 16 when the movie came out. We’ve stayed close over the past 22 years, mostly through calls and texts. She’s actually really good at that Bitmoji game! We’ve seen each other countless times, whether she was visiting Los Angeles or I was in New York. Now that she lives in Dubai, it’s a bit harder, but she recently brought her adorable son, Luai, to LA. Funnily enough, she visited before we even announced we were working on the new movie and brought Luai over to my house. We took a quick picture, just the two of us, and I posted it on Instagram. That photo really got people excited – it was amazing to see the positive reaction and it definitely sparked a lot of buzz!
I’ve always admired how close Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are! Lindsay has said Jamie is a truly important person in her life, and it’s so sweet to hear that even though it took a long time for them to work together again after Freaky Friday, their bond never faded. It really shows what a meaningful connection they share.
Jamie and I have stayed close for the last twenty years, and she’s a very important person in my life. I love her very much, and it felt like no time had passed at all when we worked together again.
